Fregate Island - Honeymoon Vacation - Tropical resort - Beach vacation - Vacation package - Exotic vacation - Tropical island - Frégate Island’s pure shores encircle a unique destination: Frégate Island. Private, a collection of sixteen luxury villas, each one crafted to provide guests with the highest degree of privacy and comfort, located on a remote tropical island in the Seychelles in the middle of the Indian Ocean. Frégate Island Private is the only resort on one of the most unspoiled places on earth. Once the island attracted pirates but now it lures the discerning and privileged with its soothing climate, tropical forests, and hidden coves of dazzling white sand. But what really sets the property apart is its commitment to the endemic wildlife that surrounds it. Designed to coexist within a fragile ecosystem that shelters some of the world’s most endangered species, Frégate Island Private offers the utmost in luxury — tempered with caring responsibility. Frégate Island is a private tropical paradise that offers a unique series of island experiences for its selected guests. This “Dream” is to be respected and improved by sustaining the untamed environment in its wild state and: - Nurturing our self sufficient hideaway for our friends and those who wish to share our Dream. - Creating a community based on pride where our management and staff become the guardians of this paradise. - Being ecologically aware in our thoughts and actions. - Pampering our guests in a most discrete and relaxed manner to create a stress free and friendly atmosphere. - Creating the “Pleasure of the senses”, where one never sees, smells or hears anything unnaturally out of place wherever you are in the island. The Villas To maintain Frégate Island’s tranquillity and beauty without impacting the delicate balance of its ecosystem, Frégate Island Private voluntarily restricts itself to just sixteen 185-square-metre (2,000-square-foot) villas. Built from traditional materials such as native mahogany and African teak in a simple post-and-lintel style, the villas are topped off with dense thatched roofs. Both the architecture and decor draw on Balinese and Thai influences. Fourteen of the villas sit on top of the cliffs with panoramic views over the Indian Ocean. Two more nestle in their own private tropical gardens, and these are particularly good choices for families vacationing with young children. Each villa was situated to make it feel like a part of the surrounding landscape, and to ensure maximum privacy and seclusion for the guests. Sliding glass walls and French doors that can be opened to the elements help to further blur the line that separates inside from outside. Despite their traditional appearance and supremely laid-back ambiance, the villas come well-equipped with DVD machines and CD players. And, of course, if the fresh sea breezes aren’t quite cool enough for you, there’s always air conditioning. The Entrance to your villa Villas on Frégate Island private are designed for maximum privacy. Accordingly, each one has a gated entrance behind which lies the open-air foyer that branches off to the living area and bedroom. Private Deck The separate areas of each villa are linked by a teak deck that comes furnished with comfortable lounging chairs and dining set that's just right for leisurely outdoor meals. A staircase leads down to a private Jacuzzi and a king-size daybed where you can linger for hours. The Bedroom This island, once used by pirates, still has bedrooms that feel like treasure troves filled with the best of the world's luxuries. The carved furniture from Africa e Asia, Javanese sculptures, Thai silks, and top-quality Egyptian cotton add to the extraordinary comfort of the villas. Complementing the design of the living room, the bedroom floor is of pale polished marble, skirted with warm Chamfuta teak from Africa. The ceiling is thatched in the Balinese style with straw bound to bamboo rafters over a soaring timber framework. The result is a room with a true sense of the exotic, one that combines richness and simplicity. Sweet Dreams are virtually guaranteed in the canopied four-poster bed, particularly when the French windows are left open to allow the sounds of the sea to waft in. The Bathroom Each villa has two bathrooms, one attached to the bedroom and one to the living room. And just like those other rooms, the bathrooms encourage you to feel like you're in touch with the natural splendour of the island - which is easy, of course, when you are enjoying the invigorating outdoor shower surrounded. Inside, windows flank the soaking tub so that you can look out over wild fig trees and palms while you luxuriate in the water. As in the rest of the villa, there's plenty of warm red teak and creamy marble, plus granite surfaces around the bathtub and basins. And of course ther's bar upon bar of rich and fragrant natural soap. Some bathrooms are only for bathing in. On Frégate Island they're places to really luxuriate. Living Room Comfort comes first in the living rooms of Frégate Island Private. Underfoot, there's cool, pale Botticino marble, skirted with African Chamfuta teak. Overhead there's thick Balinese alang-alang thatching, made from straw lashed to bamboo rafters, and a timber framework that echoes the work of the original southeast Asian craftsmen. The walls of the living room are simply glass and teak, so that light can flood in and guests can gaze out at the spectacular views over the beach and ocean. Floor-length white drapes billow in the tropical breeze but the only sound that gets blown in are the murmur of the wind through the palm trees and the crashing of the surf below. Wide Balinese day beds with cozy throw pillows are perfect for noontime nap, or children can bunk on them overnight. Original artworks, an understated palette, and natural fabrics help to create an atmosphere of extreme relaxation: A living room where living is easy indeed. Daybed & Jacuzzi Outside is your personal jacuzzi and king size day bed: a place to linger - the air is like silk making skin glow, warm and moist, yet fresh at the same time Food & Drinks In keeping with the resort’s commitment to providing its guests with the finest quality while at the same time coexisting successfully with the island’s fragile wildlife, our chefs create gourmet meals using produce grown hydroponically in our gardens. This ensures a steady supply of tomatoes, eggplant, squash, cucumbers, peppers and other vegetables. A small plantation yields home-grown pineapples, oranges, breadfruit, bananas, and a wide variety of herbs and spices. Naturally, there´s fresh fish in abundance. There are two main restaurants, one in Frégate House and one in Plantation House, or you can enjoy your meals in the privacy of your villa. The open-air Pirates Bar serves light lunches and snacks. Frégate House & Restaurants The main building on the island, Frégate House, lies just behind the villas that line the cliffs on the island's northern edge. Like the villas, Frégate House has been designed to incorporate elements of Balinese and Thai style. With its simple yet graceful architecture, it resembles a hillside pavilion. The resort's main restaurant is in Frégate House. It serves an international gourmet menu that capitalizes upon the island's steady supply of freshly-caught fish and home-grown fruits, vegetables, herbs, and spices. Diners enjoy sweeping views over the island. Whether inside underneath the slowly-revolving ceiling fans or outside in the wide verandah, guests at the Plantation House can take their time over a leisurely dinner. Creole specialties and casual barbecues are served often in this classical building, one of the oldest on the island, that was once the main property on a sugarcane plantation. There is no more sublime a place to begin a discovery of Bali's innocence and beauty than at a small hotel in the village of Kedewatan, called Amandari. Sanskrit for "the place of peaceful spirits," Amandari is surely one of the world's best hotels. Amandari is located only a few minutes from the art community of Ubud, in Central Bali. The resort is set on the very edge of the Ayung River gorge, with the village of Kedewatan adjacent. Amandari has been designed as a Balinese village, with river-stone walkways and high paras-stone walls. The pathway that runs through Amandari and down the valley to the river below is said to be sacred land. Paths lead from Amandari to surrounding villages. From Amandari, most of Bali’s cultural and scenic offerings are within easy reach. Balinese-style stone gateways front Amandari’s 30 walled, thatched-roof suites. Each terrace suite features a large combined bedroom and living room, with all facilities, including a bar and music system. In a duplex suite, the living room and bar are located on the ground level, with the bedroom and its queen-size bed on the second level. Eleven terrace and duplex suites come with private swimming pools. Twin vanities and dressing areas, separate shower and toilet rooms and Javanese marble flooring lend elegance to the Amandari bathroom. Each bathroom also enjoys an outdoor, sunken marble bathtub framed by stone planters filled with ferns and baby bamboo. The Asmara Suite and the Ayung Suite are duplex accommodations, with private swimming pools and picturesque views of the adjacent rice terraces and valley. Available with one or two detached bedrooms, the Amandari Suite includes a separate living room pavilion, a swimming pool, an outdoor dining bale of teak and bamboo and views of the Ayung River gorge. Amandari has recently added a private, three-bedroom villa to its accommodations. Located alongside the Ayung River gorge, adjacent to the resort, the 1,500-square-meter site overlooks fields of rice and the distant peaks of Batukau, Sanglyang and Lesong. The Balinese-style villa compound includes five pavilions: three detached, terrace-style bedrooms; a separate living room walled entirely in windows and sliding-glass doors; and a fully fitted kitchen complete with staff quarters. The villa is crafted largely of coconut wood and teak. Interior design and furnishings are in classic Amandari style. An outdoor dining bale is set alongside a reflection pond. A garden and a landscaped deck embrace the two-tiered swimming pool. The Amandari villa is no more than a minute’s drive from the resort proper. A vehicle is always on call, should villa guests wish to take advantage of any of Amandari’s facilities. The villa comes with two Amandari staff; a chef is on call. Restaurant & Bar The Restaurant, open to the country air and crafted largely of teak, overlooks Amandari’s swimming pool and the gorge. The Restaurant serves breakfast, lunch and dinner and specializes in Western and Indonesian dishes. The Bar, with its outdoor terrace seating, features a wide selection of drinks. Dinner celebrations can be arranged in the open-air bale next to the restaurant. Facilities and Services A selection of books, newspapers, music cassettes, CDs and games is available in the library. Local handicrafts and general items are featured in the gift shop . Amandari’s Gallery showcases antique textiles and handicrafts from all over Asia, with an emphasis on Indonesia.
